Working for Auntie: behind the scenes at the BBC - Tues 13th October 2pm
Speaker: Christine Green
2pm - 3pm
A behind the scenes look at what working for the BBC as a graphic designer entailed; from ‘Our Friends in the North’ to the Queen’s Christmas speech, via Pudsey’s buttons!
Making pictures for television was Christine’s life long dream; one she pursued and was lucky enough to realise. This fascinating talk will open your eyes as to what goes into those opening twenty or so seconds of a programme - the title sequence.
With story boards and finished sequences Christine will explain the process of creating memorable graphics that fit with the programme, from initial idea to completed work. Working with composers, model makers, animators, and editors, these short sequences set the tone for the show and sometimes introduce the characters.
Christine won many awards and nominations for her work including a BAFTA nomination and is passionate about moving images.
