Plein Air – 10am Mon 4th May 2020
The ArtTalks sessions are in UK time using Zoom conferencing
This is a one hour talk and a very personal introduction to the skill of painting in the Plein Air approach. Defined by the Tate as ‘the practice of painting entire finished pictures out of doors’, it contrasts with studio-based painting, which many argue is not as true to life. Martin will show examples from his own practice, encouraging artists to work directly from the natural world. Useful tips and insights into painting out of doors, in all weathers, will be given, enabling listeners to try the technique for themselves. Plenty of opportunity to ask questions of the speaker will be given during this talk.
